Isamu Noguchi’s low-relief panel, News has soared above the entrance to the Associated Press Building, 50 Rockefeller Plaza, since its installation on April 29, 1940. Symbolizing the business of its former tenant, the Associated Press, this cast stainless steel Art Deco plaque depicts five journalists "getting a scoop"–the reporter with his pad, the newsman on the phone, the reporter typing out a story, the photographing recording events, and the newsman hearing the news as it comes in on the wire. The Associated Press’ wordwide network is symbolized by diagonal radiating lines extending across the plaque.
Isamu Noguchi won a nationwide invitational competition in 1939 with this 22 foot high by 17 foot wide, 10-ton cast relief, using intense angles and smooth planes to emote the fast fassed environment of the newsroom in what was the first heoric-sized sculpture ever cast in stainless steel. Noguchi cast the piece in nine parts, but they were joined seamlessly so the naked eye could never detect.
Los Angeles born Isamu Noguchi (野口 勇, 1904-1988) was a sculptor, theatrical and industrial designer best known for his abstract works and set designs for Martha Graham productions. News was one of his last figurative works, and the only time he employed stainless steel as an artistic medium. His work can be found throughout major metropolitan cities, in museums, and in the Isamu Noguchi Garden Museum in Long Island City in New York. Noguchi’s work around New York includes the Sunken Garden for Chase Manhattan Bank Plaza and Red Cube in Helmsley Plaza. His Thunder Rock was also temporarily on display in Rockefeller Plaza.
Rockefeller Center was designated a landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1985.
In 2007, Rockefeller Center was ranked #56 on the AIA 150 America’s Favorite Architecture list.

No list? No problem. There are tons of ways to build a list, and even more ways to build it really, really fast. One of the fastest ways… and I have done this multiple times and made hundreds of thousands of dollars doing it…is with one of my favorite internet marketing tools… teleseminars.
It’s pretty simple. Start with looking at your niche and figuring out four or five, or even a dozen people that you could team up with who would be interested in doing a teleseminar. It’s good exposure for them, and it also helps them build their business, so finding people to partner with is usually very easy.
Let’s say you are in the health field, you would look for other health professionals that have information, products, or programs that compliment what you do. Next you will want to visit their website…if they have an opt-in box…excellent. Now you know they already have a list. This is awesome because they can advertise your teleseminar to their list, which of course builds your list as people opt-in. Obviously, the bigger the list, the better.
You will want to put up a squeeze page that says something like: “Get access to a live training with So and So, and they will teach you X, Y, and Z. Enter your information to get instant access to the call in details.”
Make sure all of your partners send an email to their lists promoting the teleconference during the week that it is going to happen. It’s also a good idea to have them mail their list a couple of times…once with plenty of advance notice…and the second time as it gets closer with a “coming up soon, don’t miss out” kind of message.
Here’s the other great thing about telesminars.
You can record it and play it again as if it were live at any other time in the future, providing of course the information on the call is still relevant.
So this is how it would work: You have done the call live and it is recorded. You send an email to your list and let them know there is a great call with fantastic information coming up and you give them a link to get access details. When they call in at the time you specified, the recording begins and they listen to the call. Now don’t tell them the call is live, because it is not. What you are telling them is that the call is happening at X time and on this particular conference telephone number.
Now you have a whole new audience that gets to hear this awesome information and you don’t have to be there at all. If they like what they hear and buy whatever is being offered during that call…Boom…you’ve just made some money…totally passively. How cool is that? That is just one reason teleseminars are one of my favorite internet marketing tools…for list building and making money online! It is the ultimate in recycling your information for increased profits.
